I just arrived from Cavite. It was so boring. I think I can't live a single day withouht being online. While wandering in the cyberspace, I came across this site where you can sing along. This is the link I sang again and again: http://blessa.com/alone.htm. The site is http://blessa.com/. If you are interested in singing, this site is worth for your visit.

Thank you very much. I know i can be more effective in mission like this one - making website for the providence. If we can unite with each other, then we can come out with a bette website. I can't write you longer this time because we are very busy this time moving out our things from our office in Ortigas to Cavite. I was just checking my mail and just made this quick reply. I'll just write to you again as soon as I can set up another internet connection in Cavite. I still have lots of things to share. By the way, I'm working at PinoyGiftsUSA, http://www.pinoygiftsusa.com/. I develop their website.

At least our pull out permit was approved yesterday. Tonight, we will be moving out from this office in Ortigas to Cavite. Good bye Ortigas. I may not be able to blog for a certain time as we are going to make a new setup with our new office. Probably a new internet connection as well. This is all for now.

To: Ate Helen email: bantolo715 at yahoo.com.sg

Dear Ate Helen,

Thanx for the prompt reply. Actually I did already the idea of soliciting from selected members, but I was turned down. My credibility was even questioned. I was even "lectured" that the principle way is for me to go to Kuya Jun Basuil directly and not with them; if they would like to help the project, they will give their contribution to Kuya Jun Basuil, and not to me. I will not mention names, but it hurts. At some point, they are absolutely correct, and I am aware same with what they have in mind. But what they missed to understand is that I am working with the site personally and I was asking donations on a personal level. And also, I had already invested my time, effort, and some substantial amount just to push-through with this project. Anyway, nung sa bandang huli na, there were only two of us left helping one another to materialize this website.

I don't bother the center about the costs of this website. I know the financial capacity of the center. This project will just be another financial burden by the center, and I don't want my project to drag down the center financially. As much as I could do, I supposed to be helping the center, and not me or my project be shouldered by the center.

You are correct with your observation. Our site has no visitors yet. There were no contents yet, so there's no reason for visitors to be coming back. This one frustrates me also, being the creator of this site. The website will only achieve its purpose when there will be lots of people coming in, sharing their ideas/thoughts, make their contributions like write ups and etc. This will make the site worthwhile to visit.

I designed and layout this website but the contents should come from contributors, like leaders/members who would report their activities/accomplishments. If our website has these contents, and is updated as much as possible, every week, surely, lots of our brothers and sisters will be coming in, visiting our website. Forum and free email can also boasts the traffic towards our website.

I will thank you in advance if you can share to us your financial support for this website. If you want to help with this site financially, I suggest you would encourage other members to do the same para hindi naman kayo mabibigatan. Rest assured every steps I made with this website is very much coordinated with Kuya Jun Basuil.

This is all for now. Thank you very much.

IMN,

This afternoon, I went to Sta. Maria, Bulacan. While on a jeepney way back, a lady fall asleep over my shoulder. She must be very tired. I didn't move, made myself steady so that she could comfortably lean over my shoulder. It was more or less almost the entire trip from Sta. Maria to Grand Central in Monumento.

Ada asked for me Nokia ring tones. So I am contemplated to look for her favorite ring tones. These are the ring tones I got for her so far. And I have to send these to her through email.

When the clarion call is sounded, "Unite!" "Unite!" . . "Unite!" everybody agrees! "Yes, let us unite!" Sadly, that is as far as it goes! Why is that
so?

A country that has been a colony for almost three and a half centuries (Spanish to American colonizers) has learned well from the tutelage of its Masters.

How do we characterize our Spanish colonizer's mentality vis-à-vis their subjects? Let us focus on certain aspects:

Limit THE education of the masa. Access to education was limited to that which makes people functional and no more. So the very basic is provided as in reading, writing and arithmetic. Does everybody have access to development facilities pertaining to these rudimentary skills? I do not know. What I know, however, is for those that have the means, their children were sent to foreign countries to undergo further education. The French Revolution, the first instance of large-scale resistance to royal absolutism has largely influenced their attitude in this regard on the latter half of their stay.

Subservience. Interdependence was not encouraged because it means the Indios will learn to work together and unite. They encouraged discord. They encouraged subservience. They encouraged 'palakasan'. They encouraged the equivalent of the "makapili" during the Japanese occupation.

Agriculture. They brought to our soil the practice of feudalism. I speculate that some of the friars were bribed with landholdings as vassals for them to agree to come to our native land. We must recall here that investiture of inadequately trained dukes and landlords was the practice the century before(?). Palakasan!

Unity. In 1492, Isabela and Ferdinand expelled the Moors Spain. A few years before Magellan discovered the Philippines, Cardinal Ximenes, who was largely responsible for the unification of Spain, died
(1517). Spain was then the strongest nation in Europe. But on account of their recent experience, they feared to see unity amongst the Indios.

Government. Royal absolutism (one man assuming absolute governmental power) was on the rise in Europe a century after Magellan's discovery of the Philippines.

Fear of revolutions. The French Revolution broke out in 1789 largely through the influence of Thinkers and Writers. These self-styled philosophers directed their bitterest attacks against the Catholic Church. What kind of prevalent sentiments and appetites then did they manage to inculcate into the minds of the Indios?

Town 'fiesta' spirit. 'Di na baling magkautang-utang basta mapakain ko ang aking mga panauhin.

Knowledge in the hands of the subordinates or the masa can upset the status quo. Do not share what you know 'baka malampasan ka pa ng tinuruan mo!'

Prejudice against the brown-skinned and flat-nosed. Maputi at maganda'.

Filipinos eat too much rice! This is coming from the vestiges of the Spanish conquistadores two centuries ago and born Filipinos stubbornly clinging to the label of 'superior race'! Not from my Spanish-speaking friends, though, for they are educated in heart and mind.

Duplicity in the practice of Christian faith. 'Mayroong ibang pamiliya ngunit nangu-ngumuniyon lingo lingo!' Invoking God's grace generously but living a life of debauchery! Civic spiritedness and lack of fidelity to the wife, all in one breath!

Manual labor belittled and/or 'ikinahihiya'.'Karpintero lang po ako!'

Esteem and adulation for the wealthy never
mind if the fellow is a crook or a corrupt government
official or a police officer
.

Meekness (lack of fortitude, more specifically) toward the powerful and wealthy. 'Opo! Basta kayo!,' even if what is being asked of the person is patently wrong! "Fortitude finds little room in a society in which surrender and accommodation on the one hand, and domination and toughness on the other, are widespread in economic, social and
political relations."[1]

The use of force is extolled (threatened harm). Kapag hindi ka sumunod sa kagustuhan ko, mawawalan ka ng hanapbuhay!' This is an unspoken message from the boss and based on his treatment of employees who have fallen out of favor, it is prudent not to test whether he means it or not. Recall what Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo did to Andres Bonifacio.

Exploitation of the farmers and the uneducated. A throwback of feudalism and the vassals--suck his blood but keep him alive! Land grabbing! This is the root cause of our conflict with our Muslim brothers in Mindanao and the NPAs.

'Ang katulong ay alipin.' Eating lunch in a restaurant after mass while the maid is sitting there patiently waiting for everybody to head home so she can also have her lunch. Asking them to work during Sundays without respite, ergo, no Mass for them!

'Nakakahiya ang mga DH na iyan', from a highly educated and very religious woman in an airport waiting for a flight home from Singapore!

Windfall mentality. No stomach for hard and earnest work complemented by the attitude, "Bahala na!"

Town 'fiesta' spirit: 'Di na baling magkautang-utang basta't mapakain ko lang ang aking mga panauhin at nang di ako mapahiya.'

Palakasan and the complementing 'crab mentality'.

Divide and rule culture. Managers want to surround themselves with minions of incompetents and psychophants. "Just obey my commands all the time if you want to be part of the team or else . . ." and the
competent guys are kept at bay.

Constructive criticism is considered an insult more often than not!

If you are familiar with the mining industry in the Philippines, you see it as a microcosm of what we observe in our national political, economic and social affairs.

Need I say more?

You see, managing the struggle for unity between one's sensuality, on one hand, and reason and will, on the other, is the first step toward unity with others, neighbors and countrymen. So, if we want unity for the Filipino People, let us do violence to ourselves! Deny our misguided sentimentalism/prejudices and make reason prevail!

First things first! Be a fully integrated person. When most of us are successful in becoming one then it is time to unite ourselves because by then it will appear
a very natural thing to do! Let us therefore build our nation on solid rock!

Amen!

What are the elements of an emotion/sentiment?

There are four elements: 1) the object that provokes the emotion; 2) the affective reaction that is provoked; 3) the physical changes that accompany the
reaction; 4) the external behavior that results.

These four elements are related in sequence. They are related as cause to effect: 1) causes 2), which causes 3) and which causes 4).

For example, 1) A nobody greets me; 2) I become repulsed by the appearance of the person; 3) Indifference and misplaced self-esteem overcomes me;
4) I choose to ignore the person for I wish not to be associated with nobodies.

Not so much thing to do. I am still waiting for the pull-out permit. I came from the LTO office. I was renewing my driver's license. Supposedly, it should take me only more or less half a day to complete the processing. But, in my case, which has a bit of the record problem, I have to come there since Wednesday. I thought I could finish it today, but I still have to go back on Monday. I'll go the Pilot issuing agency. This is how slow is the public services here in the Philippines.

Site update: I have customized the search feature of the WorldCARP-Iloilo.org website. Please follow this link to appreciate: http://search.freefind.com/find.html?id=93135308.

Edsa II's purpose was to stop corruption, bring back confidence to the government, and steady the economy. Corruption is still there, there is no confidence in the economy, and what had been P33 to the $1 in September 2000 under Estrada, is now P56 to $1. It has become so bad that Lucio Tan stated that he foresaw P100 to $1 a year or so ago -- that was way before FPJ declared he's running for the Presidency.

I am not saying that FPJ is/will be good. What I'm saying is that, at this point and given the choices for president, $1 will equal P100 irregardless of who wins.

I know, I know, am not helping to alleviate the sense of hopelessness. here's the thing, rather than simply discuss why one person is bad, why not offer reason(s) why another person is better.

It's already Friday. Barely five days since we packed our things up in the office in preparation to move out. But up until this time, our pull-out permit is not yet approved. Why? What's the cause of the delay? Is City and Land Mega Plaza would pay the loose within the days we couldn't make business while waiting for the permit to be approved? I couldn't understand what takes it so long. Isn't it that difficult to approved such pullout permit? Crazy...

There was not so much extraordinary experience for today, except for this one: I was delivering something to one place in Marikina. When I took tricycle, I told the driver, "Please bring me to number 36 in Easter Street." I was not so familiar with the place. I was trying to catch up where we were already but it was already very dark. It was already almost seven in the evening.

Suddenly, the driver stopped the tricycle and told me that we were already at the end of Easter St., so I explained him that I didn't asked him to bring me to the dead end of Easter Street, but he told me that I didn't asked him to stopped where I want to go down. Crazy driver, I don't even know the place yet, that was my first time. If this driver doesn't know the place where I would like to go, he should have told me, or otherwise, he must have helped look for it. This one is a real crazy driver, very stupid. He didn't served me well and there he is, arguing me as if it is me who is to be blame. So I paid him Php15 and I walk back all throughout too look for the house number 36. I found it hard because it was already very dark, but at least, I had avoided myself to kill the tricycle driver.

Another Crazy Story :)

Today is the 45th True Parent's Day. This morning, we went to the headquarters to attend the pledge. Attending such solemn and religious gathering means turning off, or if not, turning your cellphone in silent mode. So, I did it with my two cellphones.

The gathering was finished at nine in the morning. When I was outside, I turn my cellphones back into its standard mode. Then I proceed to Unionbank in Timog Avenue to settle some problems.

It was always a policy of any banking institution nowadays to turn your cellphone off once you are inside the vicinity. In my case, I can't afford to turn my cellphone off even for a single minute, so, instead of turning my cellphones (my two cellphones!) off, i just set it back into silent mode.

After the banking transaction, I went outside and headed to EDSA to take a non-aircon bus way back to True World Travel office in West Avenue. By that time, I was holding outside my bag my Sony Ericsson mobile phone, texting somebody and, and so, I have to turn it back into normal mode. I was already outside and free from cellphone regulation, anyway.

By the time I was in the True World Travel office, I did some sort of things, like proof-reading one memo, and fixing one stand fan. Suddenly, my cellphone rang. It's the Sony Ericsson with line from Sun Cellular. There was not much signal inside the office (Sun Cellular is not that stable yet to give out network signal to all of its subscriber in any condition). Since I can't hear the caller from the other line, I was telling her to call me with my other line (the Globe Telecome number in my other cellphone) because I don't receive much network signal. In a little while, there was another call. It is from the same person. I was already dissappointed. "I was telling her already not to call me on this number, yet she is insisting to dial this number, shit!" So, anyway, as expected, no two-way converstation could take place as I can't hear her. I don't have any idea also if she could hear me, but in such case, I was just repeating to her what I said the earlier, "Please call me into my Globe number! I don't have much signal with this number." Then I dropped the call.

There were still few calls, not only one person called me up. I could see it later from missed calls that registered. While the phone rang, I did no longer bothered myself to pick up the phone because there's no point after all. We can't just understand each other, not unless they would call me with my Globe number. I even have this in mind, "These are crazy people, why don't they just call me with my other number? They know it!"

After I finished my work, and time for me to go to my office in Ortigas, Ate Charity asked me to bring with me the auditor's payment worth PhP4,000 to my office, then, Ryan, Il Hwa's accountant, would just send somebody there to pick it up. Ryan asked for my contact number, so I give my Globe contact number. This is the most reliable and most trustworthy number that I ever had.

When I reached the office, Kuya Erick was already there, fixing everything up. We are in preparation for moving out from that office. We are transferring our office in Cavite. His first reaction when I arrived was, "Sige ko ug dial sa imong cellphone, un-attended man lagi, wala may motubag!" I didn't bother myself to think about it. I was already in the office with him, anway.

So, we made ourselves busy, fixing everything ready to be moved out as soon as we can have our pull-out permit from the building administration. After more than an hour, I remembered that somebody should come to the office and pick up the money for Il Hwa. I called up Ryan and he told me that he already send Kuya Edward towards our office an hour ago. After that, somebody knocked on the door, it was Cenon, who looked wild and distraught in appearance. He told me, almost shouting, "Kuya, nganong wala man ka manaog? Dugay mi ug hulat sa ubos!" They' re waiting for me down the building below, and it was very difficult for them to park their car. "Wala man ko kabalo nga naa na 'mo!" I was not aware anyway that they were there already. I didn't receive any message. Cenon burst out, "Sige mi ug tawag nimo, wala may motubag!" They called me up several times but nobody answered my phone. Oh?! Did I hear phone ringing?

I pulled out my phone from my bag, the Sony Ericsson, and I didn't see any missed calls. I remember that I gave Ryan my most reliable and most trustworthy Globe number, so I pulled out from my bag my Nokia 7110.

Suddenly, an intense, painful feeling of repugnance and fear struck me like a lightning when I saw that my 7110 registered 38 missed calls and 15 text messages. Oh, my goodness! No!!! How did it happened? I didn't noticed it ringing!

I remember I turned it into Normal mode when I get outside from the chapel but turned it back again into silent mode as soon as I entered Unionbank. After that, I don't remember turning it back into normal mode.

Some of the people who called me up aside from people that I can't mention are, Kuya Erick and Kuya Edward. And they just didn't dial my number once or twice, but several times. Some tried to dial this number and since nobody answered, they resorted to call my Sun Cellular number, and those were the calls I received when I was in the True World Travel office with very weak network signal.

Some of the text messages I can remember:
From Kuya Erick: Wat tym wil u b coming 2 d office?(And this was repeated several times)
From Ryan: Kuya, r u alredy in ur ofis in Ortigas? pls reply.
From Kuya Edward: dong, pls bring the money down here. we cant find parking (And there were still more text from him).
And still lots of text messages stuck in, personal and business-related.This day is totally crazy for me.

Dear readers,
I found this one very unusual experience today to be funny to share to anybody. This is a real-crazy real-life anecdote.

Crazy Delivery

Last Monday, I was assigned to deliver two boxes of cake to an address in Gagalangin, Tondo. The delivery is due on April 15, which was today. Special delivery instruction is for the goods to be delivered on or before 4:00 in the afternoon.

This morning, before doing anything in the office, I called up the consignee of the cakes to confirm their address and to get the direction how to get there. I talk to a certain Heidi, and she gave me a very clear instruction how to get there via commute. First, I have to take bus to Monumento/MCU, from there; I’ll take jeepney bound for Divisoria/Recto. Then, I’ll drop by at Hermosa – there is Jollibee and 7/11, take tricycle to Dagupan kanan, then Lakambini St., and there they are.

So, it was still very early by that time, and I did my usual routine – uploading product images to the website. After taking my lunch, I proceed to Robinson Galleria to look for the cakes. I brought with me the P700.00 budget. I went to Robinson’s Grocery but I can’t find the cakes specified. I went upstairs to third floor, to the Red Ribbon, to look for the cake. But I was told that they don’t have stock for the other one in my list. By the way, the cakes that I'm looking for are round cake premium 9” chocolate and round cake premium 6” Mocca. I was told that they don’t have 6” Mocca, so there’s no meaning for me if I’ll take one without the other. So I decided to look for the cake just along the way to the delivery address.

I took MRT from Ortigas to Farmer’s Cubao. I went straight to Goldilocks, only to find out that they don’t have the specifications of the cake I’m looking for but I was assured that I can find it in some other branches or some other cake shops.

So I roamed around Araneta center, all the way to Aurora Blvd. The summer heat soaked me wet all over. It was one o’clock, I was beating the time and I was running here and there. Still, I couldn't find what I’m looking for. I texted Kuya Erick and told him that I can’t find a 6” inches mocca. So, Kuya Erick advised me to get a 6” of different flavor. Since I can’t find 6” in Cubao, anyway, so I have to make my way back to Red Ribbon at Robinson’s Galleria. It was only by that time being cleared to me that they don’t have 6” in stock. At first, I thought they don’t have 6” mocca but they have 6” of different flavor. That was how I analyzed the first statement I heard from them. But there was never anything there as 6” cakes.

It was already past two o’clock, frustrated, I proceed to Goldilocks in SM Megamall at the third floor, in the middle of Bldg. A and Bldg. B. It was only there that the salesperson made clear to me that 6” were already phased-out and what they have in stock are only 9” up to 12”. My spirit became heavier. In the first place, I couldn't decide it for myself. So I decided to text Kuya Eric again, only to find out that my Sony Ericsson T100 which is subscribed to Sun Cellular, has no network signal. It was real crazy! I am in the middle of the mall but I don’t have signal. I popped my Nokia 7110, it was subscribed to a reliable Globe Telecom and never failed to give network signal everywhere. But then I found out that the battery had already been drain out. So, then, I was in the middle of the jungle, no more communication. But I didn’t lost hope. I have my spare phone card with me (I’m good at it). I ran to the end of the mall just to look for card phone – and then there is, only to find out that I still have to fill in the line. It was real crazy! I was in a hurry but I was stocked in there. It was already two thirty in the afternoon. It was only after a long twenty minutes of wait that I was able to take my turn. I spoke with Kuya Erick and he advised me to get what is available as an alternative. Right away, I hurried back to Goldilocks, I was running, and almost crying.

I ordered two cakes which are nearer to the specifications that I have, and, of course, cheaper. So it was chocolate and mocca with choco, all in 9”. I paid P625.00 to the cashier only to realize I only have P16.00 coins left in my pocket. Oh, no! It was terribly crazy! At that time, I have to prove myself I am resourceful even in the worst situation. I went to Il Hwa store at the ground floor to borrow money from Nathaniel or anybody out there. Unfortunately, they also don’t have anything in their pockets. By that time, it was already 3 o’clock, so therefore, taking commute is already undesirable. Besides, there are two boxes of cakes which I later found out to be hard to carry on. As soon as you carry the box, the cakes will collapse in the middle. So I have to carry the box the way you would carry a baby – but there were two boxes, that I have to put the other one on top of the other, and my muscles cramped. Anyway, I desperately needed P300 by that time but nobody can produce it for me. I informed Kuya Erick that I was in Il Hwa so he called me up via landline. He reminded me of the change of the Meralco bill payment yesterday. Yes there is, but it was in the office – and I have to get it back from there. No choice! I left the cakes at the Il Hwa store and walked (I was already running actually) back to our office in Ortigas. In the pedestrian lane under the MRT station, people walked soooo slowlyyy. It was real crazy! I was in a hurry and there I was in middle of confused and idle pedestrians. I was already shouting deep inside.

Sweat coming up from everywhere, I was so wet again. I perspired a lot but I have to keep up a good posture, especially that there are lots of pretty girls in the elevator. Anyway, I made it. I got the P240 change from Meralco bill payment and suddenly I was backed again at SM Megamall. I don’t have any idea already how I did it. I’m still figuring it out up until this time. I carry the cakes the way you would carry a baby to the taxi stand. My next problem: no taxi wished to bring me to Gagalangin, Tondo. I understand. No driver in his clear sanity who would dare to go to that faraway place just to risk with the traffic and everything. It was already rush hour and 3:30 in the afternoon! Can’t you see that? I only have 30 minutes left!

So I walked away from the taxi stand, carrying again the cake the way you would carry a baby. I walked even a little farther. I was hopeful to commander a stray taxi who is willing to negotiate. Fortunately, I found one. I told him to bring me to Gagalangin, Tondo. Amazing! He gave in right away. But he is not insane. In fact, he is a very intelligent person. I found it out later during our conversation, when we talked about politics, forthcoming election, economic situation in our country, and etc. He always makes sense, and he is physically a big guy with a big, modulated voice. I told him anyway that I’ll just add more than the amount that would register in the meter reading. So, off, we went.

There was too much traffic everywhere. We were stocked in Ortigas, in San Juan. The driver is very good in looking for alternate roads, but still, there was traffic. We were heading our way to Gagalangin, Tondo. It was already past 4 o’clock but we were still in the middle of the road.

At 4:30, we were already in Gagalangin in Tondo. We tried to find the Lakambini St. but nobody could tell us. They said that it doesn’t exist in their place. When I showed to the driver the instruction of going to the place via commute, he burst out, “Nako! Ang layo natin! Doon pala yan sa Hermosa! May Jollibee doon at 7/11. Mali yung address, ah. Hindi yan dito. Pero hindi yon doon Gagalangin, eh! Pero doon yan!” So we turn around and off we went to the place he knows. I trusted his judgment. I was very helpless at that time anyway. I can’t also call the consignee because, again (again!!!), my Sun Cellular mobile phone only registered an emergency call (SOS only). I checked the meter and it already registered P197.00. I was already very conscious with the meter already because I only have P240.00 besides the P16.00 coins.

We went on and on. The meter rose up from 220 then later it registered 237. Luckily, the driver told me we are already getting near at 7/11. I told him also that I better drop by at 7/11 and look for the address by myself. My reason is I’m running short already with my fare. Fate must have it, when we reached 7/11, the taxi meter read P241.00. So I have to shell out all my money and told the driver, “Pasensiya ka na, Pare. Sabi ko pa naman dadagdagan pa kita ng konti, pero naalanganin ako. Pasensiya na.” This must be a kind of taxi driver that should multiply, he is very understanding. He replied, “Ok lang yon. Pareho lang naman tayong naghanap-buhay.”

So, well, it’s done. But what’s next? I only have P16 left. Since the consignee has landline, I decided to give them a ring. It was already 5:30 in the afternoon. I was looking around for phone booth. Desperate to find a phone booth, I walked here and there carrying again the cakes the way you would carry a baby. I was totally excited to see a phone booth outside 7/11, only to be drowned with disappointment when I found out it is SmartTalk! “This is totally useless! My phone card is PLDT!” Oh, my goodness! I was already crying.

So I resorted to a P5 payphone. I had confirmed that I was in the right place. But take note, the place still belongs to Tondo but never Gagalangin. Anyway, Aling Nina, the consignee, told me she is going to foot the bill - I’ll just have to commander a tricycle; I got their exact address anyway. Another problem: I paid the payphone P5 and I only have 11 pesos coins.

At last, I was there. I hand them the cakes and ask for an apology for being so late. I told them my plight and they understand. Aling Nena, as what she said earlier over the phone, hand out to the tricycle driver P20 for my fare. When I was back at 7/11, the driver asks me P10 more. I told him he is already paid but he insisted that it was not enough and there was no other explanation. It was crazy. Arguing with the driver has no meaning. They are always the winner. Anyway nothing I can do in such situation, otherwise I will suffer a scratched face, or a stained polo shirt, or worst, a broken phone. "Remember, you are in Tondo." I was telling myself. At all times, and in any condition, I have to maintain my poise. So I shell out my last eleven pesos, hand in to the tricycle driver the 10 pesos, and keep the 1 peso mine. So then, I freed out myself from hell, but I only had one peso in my pocket.

Next problem is how to get back to the office without being harmed. The first thing I did is to take a vacant jeepney going to MCU. Well, it was not literally vacant. There were only very few passengers. I sat down right at the back of the driver, hand to him my last one peso coin and said, “Pare, ito na lang talaga ang natitira sa akin, naubusan ako eh.” The driver automatically answered without a second thought, as if he is used with it already, “Ok lang.”

At last, I was already in EDSA, but there was nothing left for me. I had used up my last one peso. I have my spare MRT stored value card (again, I’m good at it), but MRT station is still very far. I walked a little shorter and waited for an exact timing. I saw one non-aircon bus which I felt I’m safe. I climbed up and stand near the driver. The lady conductor, who has a blonde hair and still looked beautiful even in her late 40’s, asked me to sit down. There I said, “Madam, makikisakay na lang ho ako hanggang SM MRT. Naubusan kasi ako ng pera eh.” She stared at me for awhile, and thinking that she can do nothing out of it, she just nodded. Besides, with the good looks that I have, can she afford to refuse?

It was as if a thorn was pulled out from me when I was in the SM North MRT station. I have my stored value card, and, ok, my cellphone regained signal. But everything is already finished ( Where was this signal when I needed it most?)

I was back in the office 6:30, write this article to my blog site, gathered some coins at Kuya Erick's table, and head my way back home.

DNS for Web Hosting

If you’ve been surfing the Internet for quite a while, you’re probably already familiar with domain names and how important they are for web sites. But are you familiar with DNS? Well, if you’re not, let me help enlighten you.

DNS refers to several things all at once.

* Domain Name Service - the data query service that searches domains until a specified host name is found1
* Domain Name System – a system of mapping names to Internet Protocol (IP) addresses hierarchically in a specific domain, much like a phonebook for the Internet.2
* Domain Name Server - the server, used on the Internet and some private networks, where host names are translated to their IP address.3

The DNS system is, therefore, its own network, and if one DNS server is unable to translate a particular domain name (Translating the name into the IP address is called "resolving the domain name."), it asks another one, and so on, until the correct IP address is returned.4

How does DNS work?

There are several web sites that explain the process in detail. These include:

http://computer.howstuffworks.com/dns.htm
http://www.stamey.nu/DNS/DNSHowItWorks.asp
http://www.winnetmag.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/8666/8666.html

So why is DNS important?

Because it helps users find their way around the Internet and it also makes it easier by allowing a familiar string of letters (the "domain name") to be used instead of the arcane IP address5 (which is harder to remember, it actually being a 32-bit numeric address, written as four numbers separated by periods6)

A critical design feature of DNS is universal resolvability, which ensures predictable results from any place on the Internet. But if at any point the DNS is faced with two identical domain names with different IP addresses, the DNS would not function and be unable to resolve the domain name.

This is where ICANN or Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers comes in. It is a global, non-profit, private-sector coordinating body responsible for managing and coordinating the DNS to ensure universal resolvability. It also oversees the processes and systems that ensure that each domain name maps to the correct IP address.5 Among these are IP address space allocation, protocol identifier assignment, generic (gTLD) and country code (ccTLD) Top-Level Domain name system management, and root server system management functions.

ICANN is also responsible for accrediting domain name registrars, which are entities where you can go to have your domain name registered. A list of ICANN-Accredited Registrars are found at their site.

Letter for Melody

dear melody,

good day. you must be greeting me a belated happy birthday. this email may come to you as a surprise. sure, it is. i would like you to know that i appreciate very much the way you work at true world travel and tours. you're still too young but you are already very much confident by yourself. you're a quick-learner - you learn a lot of things already related to your work. you have good looks that makes you stand out among the rest. with such blessing being endowed to you, you're supposed to be meek and humble. the more you learn things, the more you should humble down yourself. unfortunately, it seems that you're going the opposite way. it seems you're becoming arrogant and disrespectful. nakakapanghinayang if you don't really know where you're going to.

i would like to point out a certain scenario that motivates me in writing this email for you. it happened last night. i can never imagine i can hear from you saying to me directly, "wag mo kaming silipin!" i was a church leader in the earlier days and i happened to have the chance guiding wayward members who are nanigarilyo, namboboso, nag-iinom. it is a slap in my face that after being in the church for 14 years, i would just be told by an 18 year old kid nga dili manilip. it really upset me. now, you may shout at me, "nganong pabalik-balik man na, nag-sori na gani ko kagabii! abi nako ok ka na!" ok, let's put it this way: you don't even need to say sorry as long as you determine yourself not to do a certain mistake again. but saying sorry has no meaning if you keep on repeating a certain mistake again and again. i had been observing you and i can notice you are most of the time disrespectful to me. i'm sorry to say this. i can't figure out why this happens to me when i had always been respectful to my elderlies not only in the church but even in the secular world.

let's go back to the main point. analyze this: ngano nga sa inyo tanan sa sulod sa kwarto, ikaw lang naman ang naka-isip magsulti ug ingon ana nako? ngano man nga ang mga elders nga kauban nimo sa kwarto, like ate ada or si malou, wala man magsulti ug ingon ana nako? it's not because they don't have it in mind. it is because they know it that i will not do such things. its because we have the same mindset - we have the same level of thinking, no shadows of doubt. ikaw, why you had reacted that way? it is because ikaw lang ang may malisya, you have the inferior level of thinking. you may ask, "ngano man? mali ba diay akong gisulti? nagpahinumdom lang naman ko ah!" wala man untay mali sa imong gisulti if only you distinguished who the person is you're going to say such words to. dapat pilion nimo kung kinsa ang imong dapat pagsabihan. you make sure where you stand before you say anything otherwise, the best thing to do, is just to keep yourself silent.

i can remember this thing as an example: we talked about my wife who left me, and then, you suddenly burst out, "tungod kay wala man gud nimo gi-take care!" on what authority you can say such things? wala man gani maka-ingon ana ang mga national leaders. you don't even know exactly what really had happened and suddenly you came up with such conclusive statement. pag-ingon ana, magmukha ka hinuon nga tanga. anyway, too much for that. tapos na man na. wala na to sa ako. i just made it as an example just to make an emphases. my point here actually is that, there are sensitive things you can't just say to anybody. may mga bagay nga pwede nimo isulti sa ka-level nimo pero dili nimo pwede isulti the same way to people nga mas nakakatanda sa imo. di ba, may ginatawag kita nga vertical and horizontal. to make it simplier, horizontal is dealing with people of your own level. so you have to talk to them in a horizontal way. vertical is the way you look at people nga mas nakakatanda sa imo and mas nakakabata sa imo. so you have to talk to them in a vertical way.

we are making our relationship here based on trust. and we are practicing this everyday. it is sad to say you let yourself be spoiled by distrust and confusion. i'm not just talking here in the unification teaching's point of view. i'm saying these based on common courtesy. even without attending divine principle lecture, it is a household tradition to pay respect to elders, this is one very clear example.

i was a stupid leader during my time but i was able to guide members who are now regional leaders, and even some are already doing mission in the US. yet i was never proud of that. i know i still don't have any accomplishments. those things are useless when in the present time, i am with people who are even quite difficult to guide of. it's frustrating. i am not in the positions to guide them, anyway.

ate ada, instead of being proud to have done mission in america, she is not. on the contrary she become even more humble. her heart is even more polished. that's what she gain after doing her mission there. to say that somebody didn't underwent unification fulltime experience that's why he or she is not polished is not an excuse. there are still a lot of person out there who were just following common courtesy and they are already making good relationships with their peers and to anybody around. tita luz had been probably already a good person even before attending DP lecture. in fact, she don't have unification fulltime experience. but she has a good heart.

i don't compare you with them because i want to put you down. my point here is to challenge you. if you can do everything, then you can do more than what presently they are. you can be better off than them. Abi nimo, gwapa ka, tapos kung good-heart ka pa, mas lamang ka na! you'll be greater than ruffa guttierez. you may not participate in any beauty pageant but you'll surely become a real miss universe. you'll become a real star quite far surpassing even the starstruck survivors.

the reason i'm saying you this through an email is that if i'm going to say this to you face to face, you will not admit things right away. you're sure to be justifying yourself. in most cases, elders are defeated by youngers because they have their dignities to keep. you can never figure out elders fighting with youngers, otherwise, they will lost their position. i have had lots of experience already being bad-mouthed by less-educated youngers. so i determined myself not to be in such kind of situation again. [by the way, take note: the word here "position" is not referred to a position of superiority or hierarchy but the chronological order. (konting explanation lang po to avoid being misunderstood. basin maisip ba nga nagpatahod man gyod porque elder siya - no, that's not my point)]

you may conclude,"ah, gidibdib man gyud niya!". no, it is not. i don't take things personally. i don't care if you pay me respect or not. my only concern is that youngers, as much as possible, should, at least, learn, how to respect elders. that's one good point to consider. and if i can help you make such points, then fine. but if not, i'll just go on my own way. as i've said, i don't care about you. lotlot is there to guide you anyway.

with regards to your comments na mali-mali ang english ko, well thanx for that. if i have mistakes, that's because i'm making a constant practice up until this time. i'm better off in writing than oral communication. but you better specify what my mistakes are. i was a grammarian during my elementary days; i had been a high school instructor in a prestigious school in Cavite; as a freelance writer, i already had two published articles in two dailies here in the Philippines and one article published in an Asian magazine; i had been working with foreigner Unification church leaders for five years. with these, probably i had gone too far and already overqualified to be judged by a qualified high school graduate.

if you are keen enough, you would notice that i am writing this email all in small caps. what this means here is that i am trying myself to be as humble as i am even to you, younger one. but if you would reply me with all caps on (THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF ALL CAPS ON: WHEN YOU WANT TO SHOUT TO SOMEBODY THROUGH LETTER), that is still fine for me. you only have two choices after reading this email. it's either you take this constructively, or be pissed off and flare up. whatever your choices, it's all yours. but please keep this small piece of advice from me. after reading this email, don't keep it. erase this email and don't even think of remembering this even in your dreams. and don't you ever bother with me about this afterwards. don't even try to make a reply - you can't just get through. if you are in doubt, like as what you always did to me, try it yourself. you'll just realize that your reply is automatically redirected back to your mailbox. i'm not going to do it myself, but as i've said, its automatic.

you don't need to show me that you change. show it to yourself. you're not my concern. i don't care about you. i already got tired guiding members since from the very beginning, and i am not in the position to guide you, anyway. i only wish for you to help yourself... give yourself enough room for improvement.

my purpose of this email is not to push you to show your respect towards me. if you are used already of being disrespectful to me, go ahead and be happy with it. after all, respect is being deserved and not to be asked. i'll be even more happy if you are always disrespectful to me because that's how naturally you are to me. i just wish that you will learn to pay respect to others.

mga bawal na words the next time we meet: bawal ang "po", bawal ang "sori", bawal ang "thank you". these words will just pissed me off.

i hope you'll always be having a happy time growing... magtiyaga sa ka sa pagka starstruck avenger. later on, molabaw ka pa sa mga starstruck survivors.

God Bless you.

I delivered two bottles of wine to one of our clients. On my way back to the office when Mrs. Genie Kagawa, the Asst. to the Continental Director of the Unification Movement, Asia, called me up. They have just transferred their office to the residential area of the same building we are in.

When I went there, everything were still so messed up. So I have to put everything in place (not literally everything). They asked me to come there to fix their computer up. Some computers don't no longer worked as expected. It was probably because of the transportation. It was sure to be shaken along the way.

Mrs. Kagawa asked me to do volunteer works again for their office, things I can't afford to turn down. As soon as everything will be polished, like arranging my time for office. Oppss, the roving guard already knocks on my door. It will be looking for my overtime permit. I have to go...

I just finished the Kiddie Section of PinoyGifts website. I have to go out from the office for awhile to buy Ice Cream for True World Travel staff, otherwise known as True World Travel angels. It's my birthday today, but, though, I didn't celebrate my birthday, since some people expect a little bit of "kasayahan", so I have to gave in.

Originally, it was supposed to be pizza. But when I went out to Pizzahut this morning to place an order, my credit cards unfortunately declined, and it was very awkward for me to call up the bank at an early time. Since my cash is only enough for an ice cream, here I would go, ice cream na lang...

I'll return back to the office this late afternoon.

Shangri-La launches new toll-free reservations numbers

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has launched new toll-free numbers and opened a new call centre in Kuala Lumpur to service Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, India, the Middle East and South African markets.

Commenting on the new toll-free numbers, Carmen Lam, Shangri-La's group sales and marketing director, said: 'These newly introduced reservations numbers allow customers to make bookings and receive instant confirmation 24 hours a day at any of our 42 hotels in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Customers can now simply and easily make enquiries and book both Shangri-La and Traders hotels without incurring any long distance call charges, helped by agents who speak a wide variety of languages.'

The Malaysian call centre is in addition to existing centres in Hong Kong, Tokyo and London. For those calling from mainland China there are now two reservations numbers for northern and southern China. Existing toll-free reservations numbers remain the same for Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Europe and North America.

Today is black Saturday. This morning, I delivered one piece of roasted pig to Veraville Homes in Las Pinas. It was very difficult for us to find the place. Anyway, after some time, we found out the place. From there, I went home and made internet connection. There's no way for me to do other things. Nothing else to be done anyway.

An Open Letter for Kuya Danny

dear Kuya Danny,

Thanx for your appreciation for my graphics works towards our website. But I want you to know that there is even better than that. The images were just scanned from a printed catalogue that's why the quality is no longer that good - I just enhanced those images. Unlike photographs processed from film developing center, images from catalogs (printed from a printing press) can no longer produce high-quality scanned images because these are already screened with three or four colors. Outputs from digital camera are even better. I tried my best, however, that the images will be maximum tolerable.

Everytime I work with our site, I always feel frustrated. Everytime I visit and work with our website, I feel pain. I'm sorry to say this, but I couldn't appreciate yet the look and feel of our website. I know that there must be better than this, but why it is very much limited up until this point? I always think like this. Being in the web industry for quite a time, I know that there should be better off than this one that we have.

Although you're not asking any suggestions from me, I would just like to point out things that I had observed need to be changed/improved. First, we don't have our own hosting account for the scripts and database of our website. The developer put all of these things to a subdirectory of their website. Our files, if you can follow this one, can be found at this path: http://www.compfriend.com/pinoygiftsusa/index.htm. We have our own qualified domain name (www.pinoygiftsusa.com), so, therefore, the case should not be like this. Our web files should have rightfully been hosted into another webhosting account and not to be hosted in a subdirectory of their website. Although the website is displayed by typing www.pinoygiftusa.com, this is still very unsatisfactory. The original path was just hidden by our domain name using invisible URL framing or "cloaking." The downside of this is that, it can hurt the traffic towards our website. Our website can never be listed my major search engines, and even if we pay much for search engine listing, still our site will be penalized because we have invalid linkage to our products. For example, if we submitted our site to Google for listing, when somebody will be looking for roses, especially with specific keywords from our site, Google is supposed to return this path: http://www.pinoygiftsusa.com/product_view.asp?prodCat=7. That is, if our website is properly hosted. But because the original path of the rose (e.g. Roses Romantic 2) is http://www.compfriend.com/pinoygiftsusa/product_view.asp?prodCat=7, there's even no way that Google will return this path to the keyword searcher. This path is unknown to Google because our domain is www.pinoygiftusa.com.

That is why the developer can't make our website searchable through major search engines like Yahoo or Google. Supposedly, search engine submission is to be done by the web developers (of course, who else will do this?). But since search engine placement is not
applicable for our website, they couldn't do it. You try searching our competitors through search engines, and they are listed at least number three from the rankings. Aside from paying much, they have valid links towards their files / list of products. Our website's situation is similar to what I did to Il Hwa's website: I have my qualified domain name - www.dodongflores.coms.ph, and since Il Hwa don't have budget (as of this time) for the domain name registration and webhosting, so I just placed the web files to a subdirectory of my website, so the path is www.dodongflores.coms.ph/ilhwaphilippines/.

I am very sad that I know pretty well about search engine submission but the website I presently maintain is unknown to search engines. I tried this and I got a negative result:
WEB RESULTS

Did you mean:
www.giftusa.com or www.pinoygift.com? We didn't find any Web pages containing pinoygiftsusa.com/.

Suggestions:
- Check your spelling.
- Try going directly to pinoygiftsusa.com/.
- Find web pages that contain "pinoygiftsusa.com/".
Also, you can visit the Yahoo! Search Help Center for more suggestions.

It is not actually difficult to be listed to search engines. In fact, even my own name, dodong flores, is searchable at Google. Try clicking my name and you will see that my website is even at the top of the ranking.

Secondly, the developer laid out our site with frames. Frames have negative impact to our website. Even if our website will be listed to major search engines, when somebody will search for keyword in favor with our website, instead of the product being displayed, what will be shown is the front page of our website. http://www.filgift.com is an example of an online shopping facility which is neatly laid out and didn't use frame. I know why our programmers use frames to our website. They just want all things to be done quickly. If they use frame, they would just have to code the sidebar menu and the topbar menu once. But if no frame is used, they have to code it such as the menu is called upon everytime a new page is loaded to the browser. Frames are only best for intranet or offline presentation but are never ideal for the internet. I'll make an example my own website with sidebar and bottombar menu. I don't use frame but there is no problem about it. Please click this link: http://ww1.i8.com/.

Third, I think all the developers of our website are programmers. I can't see any work from web graphic designer. If you can see these site, http://www.philgift.com. Obviously, this site is a teamwork of graphics designers + programmers. Even the Goldilocks website look so nice (and more to that, it is searchable through major search engines). Honestly, I was trying to introduce our site to some of my friends and they told me that I laid it out so badly (Sorry for this...). Ako pa tuloy ang napagkamalan.

Fourth, we are doing online transactions but we don't own our Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificate. This is very essential. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) uses a technique called public-key cryptography to provide encrypted connections. This enables a client/customer to move information across the Internet with confidence that it will not be intercepted or modified in transit. SSL defeats most attempts to eavesdrop, forge, or otherwise tamper of data. SSL certificate is own by Compfriend.com. Some clients are very much particular about SSL certificate, they will double click the SSL Certificate icon at the status bar of the browser, and if they can see that the certificate owner is different than pinoygiftsusa.com, we will lose our credibility. (Please refer to the image placed at the buttom of this image. That's how a certificate looks like and we don't own it).

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Oh, my God! Antok na ako... The payment gateway (to process credit and debit card payments, bank transfers... etc) is also facilitated by compfriend.com. We don't have our own payment gateway. What we have is only the merchant account which was processed by compfriend.com in your behalf.

Did you register the pinoygiftusa.com domain by yourself? If not, then most probably, you don't know the details about it. Well, just in case, here it is:

This is how an SSL Certificate looks like.

Sige, Kuya Dan. Super antok na ako... alas dos na kasi sa umaga dito. Pasensiya na for this unsolicited ideas. I just felt I should voice out what I technically know. And we are doing business, so I think, our site just deserved to be designed nicely...

sincerely,
dodongflores

Hi, Ada. I'm really very sorry. You should know that I believed with your explanation. But I was thinking the other way ahead of it. I'm sorry for being so conclusive (ie. thinking that you rejected my write up). And suddenly I saw the testimonials already posted in your profile. Oh, my goodness. I'm really very sorry. I was stricken by lightning. I have already a broken face I can't afford to see you anymore.

This is a humorous story from Myna Sabado email: MYNA at QSR dot COM dot PH

The Senator

While walking down the street one day, a powerful senator of the Philippines is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to Heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in." says the senator.

"Well, I'd like to but I have orders from higher-up What we'll do is have you spend one day in Hell and one in Heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

"Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in Heaven," says the senator.

"I'm sorry but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts the senator to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to Hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a club and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him, everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, hug him, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster and caviar.

Also present is the Devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that, before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a big hug and waves while the elevator rises. The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on Heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

"Now it's time to visit Heaven."

So 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well then, you've spent a day in Hell and another in Heaven. Now choose your eternity."

He reflects for a minute, then the answers: "Well, would never have thought it, I mean Heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in Hell."

So Saint Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to Hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he is in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags. The Devil comes over to the senator and lays an arm on his neck.

"I don't understand," stammers the senator. Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and club and we ate lobster and caviar and danced and had a great time. Now all there is a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable.

The Devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning. Today you voted for us!"

I got this article from the mailing list. This article really interests me. I would like to share this to anyone with the credit of Cesar Tolentino, the author of this article:

Fearless Forecast for 2004
Cesar S. Tolentino

Just like the forecasts I made on the Fil-IT website (globalfil-it.org) last December 2002, herein are my predictions for 2004 (they're actually more of projections than predictions, but what the hey, it's more exciting that way):

1. With mobile phone subscribers increasing in volume in 2004 (projected at 28 million out of a population of 86 million, 80% of which are pre-paid),the following trends are expected: - more mobile applications promoting interconnection among subscribers, particularly those encouraging group eyeballs (calendars for gimmick schedules, news for gimmicks especially concerts and movies, etc.)

- more mobile applications keeping subscribers entertained while being stuck in the perennial traffic jams of the metropolitan areas such as Metro Manila and Metro Cebu (puzzles, short stories, entertainment news, chikka mails, etc.)

2. The introduction of more sophisticated mobile devices could finally result in the convergence of handheld game devices (those produced by Bandai) and connectivity devices (cellphones). The stage, however, is not yet ready for the inclusion of serious productivity and business applications (spreadsheets, e-mail, word processing, and other business suites) into this platform. This trend will drive the rise of more businesses engaged in:

- developing engaging games that fit in the 8MB memories of such devices, particularly those in the genre of strategy games and RPGs. We can expect a few SIMs knock-offs, similar in gameplay to Bandai's Tamagotchi.

3. The rise of MMORPGs (Massive Multiplayer Online RPGs) as a serious gaming environment originally the realm of PC-based RPGs and LAN-based RPGs (a la Baldur's Gate and Diablo). They WILL NOT be of the tactical RPG genre as Half-Life, but more closely related to the highly strategy-based RPG gameplay of Ghost Recon. There will also be Strategic RPGs as Warcraft III and pure RPGs as those churned out by Bioware/TSR (Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights). The current incarnation of MMORPGs are those made by Korean developers such as Ragnarok and Ozworld. Expect to see more intensive graphics and more serious gameplay (with gore).

- MMORPGs will not only drive consumption of DSL bandwidth in internet cafes, they will also drive consumption and adoption of new broadband lines (DSL and probably even ISDNs and wireless broadband for residential communities as condos and apartments).

4. The emergence of Video-On-Demand (VOD) as a viable content for broadband services in business, academic and residential markets.

- for business, to be used in accessing exclusive video content such as Conferences and Seminars

- for academe, to be used in accessing video courses such as what normally is produced by Discovery and National Geographic

- for residential market, pay-per-view content for high-end residential subscribers and residential communities such as condos, apartments, resorts and hotels

5. The emergence of the Philippines as a hub for internationalization services - internationalization services are services involving the translation of documents (manuals, handouts, etc.) into international standard English. This is the reverese of localization services where international content is translated into local language content. The market
for such services will be the large non-English speaking market in Asia and the Middle East.

- the biggest industry availing of these services will be the IT sector, but expect some market to emerge from the telecom, power, utility and publishing sectors as well

- software internationalization will also emerge from the Korean and Japanese markets, for their game and consumer electronic products

- this service business will be part of the BPO sector

I came across with sites who are offering free URL submissions for search engines. Here are the two: http://addurl.entireweb.com/ and http://www.freewebsubmission.com/

For http://www.exactseek.com/, I still have to make a review.

If you can't wait for 4-6 weeks of free listing, you can go to http://www.prioritysubmit.com/ for a paid submission. I have tried this already and surely it worked with my submitted sites. The last site I submitted is the True World Travel and Tours website, www.trueworldtravel.coms.ph.

Something crazy happened so I have to go home early.
Last April 1, we went to SM department to buy 1 set of bed. The scheduled delivery is today. This afternoon, Ailen call me up and told me that only the foam was delivered because that was what was written in the delivery receipt? Does it mean we paid Php7000+ for that piece of foam only? This is crazy. And partly we were blamed why we didn't checked with the receipt earlier what was written there. Oh my goodness! How will we know with their item descriptions?
Such thing is already bothering my work. I have to go back there personally to make the follow up and check what had happened. I should call from the office but the receipt which would serve as my reference is at home.
This is crazy!

Today is Holy Monday. We still go to work but you can already feel the spirit of the Holy Week. About my job, our website is down and I'm still waiting it to be back online so that I can continue working with the graphics...

Another news that I just read, Google is launching a web-based email service: Hotmail presently offers 2MB of free e-mail storage. Yahoo offers 4MB. Gmail will dwarf those offerings with a 1GB storage limit. Please check this out http://gmail.google.com/gmail/help/about.html

While meandering for awhile in the cyberspace, I came across with these sites that interests me:

I have to go home early today. It's Saturday. There is not much thing to be done at home. I just feel it's Saturday and felt like not to work so hard. Is this what you also feel during Saturdays?

I am making a review for the cheapest webhosting company who would allow me to change the MX record. This is so far my evaluation. I tried to convert their current charges from US dollar to Philippine peso so that I can figure out how much do I need to shell out. There lots of considerations, though. Like, what if these webhosting companies that offer the lowest rate has no good service? Anyway, I have to begin with the pricing first:

Ceylon Hosting
Php837.oo($14.95) a year plus Php557.20($9.95) one time setup fee plus they charge for MX record change Php280($5). The total is PhP1674.20 that I have to initially shell out from my pocket. The webspace they offer for this plan is 10MB with 5 POP3 & SMTP, 3 FTP access, 5 subdomains, domain pointers, and free DNS change. Software supports are MySQL DB's, Php, Perl, CGI, ssh, Frontpage extensions, etc.

Digital Space
This company charges $3/month for the basic webhosting to be paid yearly. That means I need to shell out Php2016.00 every year for the webhosting. They also charges $5 for the change of MX record. That means I need at least Php2296.00 so that I could start with their service. Package comes with 10MB webspace with almost similar features above.

Power Media Communications
Their basic webhosting package comes with 50 MB Space, 50 POP Accounts, 50 FTP Accounts, 50 Sub Domain, 50 DB MySQL, 50 Mailing Lists, 5GB/mo Bandwidth and $4.25/month. That means I have to pay Php 2856.00/year. They don't charge anything for the change of MX record.

Down ang Friendster! May mga testimonials pa naman ako para sa mga friends ko. Anyway, I'll have to jot here down and later post it to Friendster as soon as Frienster resume its operation. Here goes my testimonials:

For Luz: Ayan, si Tita Luz. Very cute na sister yan pero big heart. Ang bait nyan, super!. Cool palagi ang dating. Paano kaya nila ginawa yung pagkamabait?
She always cook very distinct foods. Sa bahay, kapag ang ulam mukhang take out from a hi-class restaurant, ayan, segurado, si Tita Luz na ang nag-prepare non.
You may probably asked, "Bakit lahat positive sinasabi mo tungkol sa kanya? Paano naman yung negatives?" Here's my answer: So far, wala pa naman kasi akong nakikita na negative about her.
She is also incline towards business. I wish her to prosper. She has still have a long way to go but I know she will succeed because she has naturally with her good traits that good fortunes naturally follows...

For Daisy: Daisy aka Baby Heart. Cute ang dating. Nanggigil ako sa kanya 'pag tinawag ko siyang Baby Heart. Para bang feel kong kurutin siya. Pero, hey, I can no longer do that to her. She's no longer a small kid, you know. She had already graduated from college and she has a considerable height. She had already grown up and into a professional level.
Baby Heart is very professional to the point that she is a real humble person. Di ba, real professionals are humble?.. Ganon...
She is very respectful to the elderly. Besides, its natural for her to be mabait na. Yung tipong hindi pinagpapraktisan ang pagka-mabait. It's probably inborn na sa kanya ang pagkamabait. Here's one scenario to prove that:
Sometime before, I was sending her an SMS from one of my mobile number she doesn't know yet. Usually, when you send a message to person who doesn't know your number, their common reaction is nagging you back; "Hu r u?", "How did u g8 my #?" "Magpakilala ka muna!", or worst, "Buwisit ka, iniistorbo mo ko!" I have this typical experience with my common friends, and when they know it's me, they would just say; "Eh, kasi, Kuya, hindi naman kayo nagpakilala kaagad", or "Sori, Kuya, hindi ko kasi alam na kayo pala..." But Baby Heart is different. This was the message I received when she made her reply; "Elow, cno po cla?" The bottomline here is that people are commonly good only to their peers and friends they know but are rude to strangers. Baby Heart is quite different because she is not just good to people she knows but even to others she doesn't know yet. So, you see? Pag ganyang attitude, good fortune will follow next.
Baby Heart has a very distinct voice.
Baby Heart is kalog and maingay. You won't get bored in her company. Kaya nga sabi ko, feel kung kurutin siya, but of course, you can only do that to a six-year old kid, but never ever to a young professional anymore.

For Malou: Malou is mabait, maingay, but not conservative - which is personally not of my type. Summing it up all, Malou is a friend worth-keeping...

What you need to know about cookies:

Understanding cookies
Some Web sites store information in a small text file on your computer. This file is called a cookie.

There are several types of cookies, and you can choose whether to allow some, none, or all of them to be saved on your computer. If you do not allow cookies at all, you may not be able to view some Web sites or take advantage of customization features (such as local news and weather, or stock quotes).

How cookies are used

A cookie is a file created by an Internet site to store information on your computer, such as your preferences when visiting that site. Or it might only contain a record of the pages you looked at within the site you visited, to help the site customize the view for you the next time you visit.

Cookies can also store personally identifiable information. Personally identifiable information is information that can be used to identify or contact you, such as your name, e-mail address, home or work address, or telephone number. However, a Web site only has access to the personally identifiable information that you provide. For example, a Web site cannot determine your e-mail name unless you provide it. Also, a Web site cannot gain access to other information on your computer.

Once a cookie is saved on your computer, only the Web site that created the cookie can read it.

Persistent cookies

A persistent cookie is one stored as a file on your computer, and it remains there when you close Internet Explorer. The cookie can be read by the Web site that created it when you visit that site again.

Temporary cookies

A temporary or session cookie is stored only for your current browsing session, and is deleted from your computer when you close Internet Explorer.

First-Party vs. Third-Party cookies

A first-party cookie either originates on or is sent to the Web site you are currently viewing. These cookies are commonly used to store information, such as your preferences when visiting that site.

A third-party cookie either originates on or is sent to a Web site different from the one you are currently viewing. Third-party Web sites usually provide some content on the Web site you are viewing. For example, many sites use advertising from third-party Web sites and those third-party Web sites may use cookies. A common use for this type of cookie is to track your Web page use for advertising or other marketing purposes. Third-party cookies can either be persistent or temporary.

Unsatisfactory cookies

Unsatisfactory cookies are cookies that might allow access to personally identifiable information that could be used for a secondary purpose without your consent.

because Ada apparently didn't approve my testimonials in her Friendster account, so I have to post it here:

Well, what can I say about Ada? Let me first tell about her innate nature. This is random and in no particular order: Ada perhaps is the most person with a molded/polished heart - very rare of its kind. She always shows utmost brotherly/sisterly concerns to her peers and fellows.

Ada is a very righteous person. Yet, she is very much considerate towards other's feelings. She shows no favoritism to anyone. She is very objective towards her superior and had always been very supported to her superior at all costs.

Ada belongs to a province with people known to be strong in their characters. But you can never see Ada showing such kind of attitude. She may possess such attitude but probably don't want to show it off to anybody. Of course, you don't expect her to be lenient, though. Ada is such kind of person you can truly describe as "mabait", super!

Ada always smiles. You can never see the meaning of everyday struggle in her face. The moment you stay with her, even for awhile, all your sadness will surely drift away...

She is also a well-rounded person. She knows the turn around of all the household chores. She cooks very delicious foods, as in, food you would mistakenly think to be professionally crafted by skilled cook. She is also a very industrious person. You can never see her idling. Ada manages her time wisely. In fact, she can be in the office as early as past 7 in the morning. That's how punctual she is...

Ada is a God-loving person. She has a deep interest making relationship with God. But, hey! Don’t' get me wrong. I'm not talking about a nun here. I'm not talking about a typically serious kind of a religious person. Ada is actually "kalog" and likes to listen to slow rocks. She also watches TV, of course. She is also sort of inclined to online activity, the fact that she has account her at Friendster. But of course, she do manage everything well.

Externally, Ada is good in PR. And she always works professionally. You can see her always in a simple but standout outfits. Magaling yata talaga siyang mag-parespares ng mga damit. Wholesome image palagi. She is also good in taking care of herself. Do I need to mention in details? No need.

The word "Ada" in local dialect means "fairy." So, when you say "Ganda Ada," it means "beautiful fairy."

Ada is the most amazing, astounding, wonderful woman that I've ever known.

What is web site hosting?
Hosting = space on a computer "out there" that will hold your web site so it may be accessed by anyone on the world wide web. I do not provide web site hosting, but I'm happy to assist you in finding a host and preparing your account.
Why do I need to pay for a host when I can put my site on some servers for free?
There are many services that allow you to host your site for free. Generally, free hosts do not convey a professional image and do not offer the degree of control needed for a professional presentation.

What is a domain name?
A domain name is the unique address of your web site on the world wide web. For example, the domain name for Mansie Enterprises is: www.mansie-enterprises.com. Domain names are obtained by registering them with a domain name registrar. I can assist you in selecting and registering domain names or you can complete this yourself.

I went to SM North to buy bed for Ate Akemi which will deliver her baby this month of April. I paid Php7495 charged to my credit card. The scheduled delivery of the bed will be next week, Monday. Oh, that must already be holy week...
